It’s almost hard to believe 2020 is coming to an end. Undoubtedly, most of us are breathing a sigh of relief. Escapism comes in the form of browsing the internet for holiday deals and ideas. I know for me, it does!
Since the borders have re-opened again, we have seen a big rise in the number of holiday makers choosing Cairns as their destination over Christmas and the New Year.
Whilst we have had a few rainy days here and there, the weather has been beautiful and lush. Local markets are aplenty. Life is blooming in the rainforest. The Great Barrier Reef charters are filling up. Cassowary sightings are becoming more frequent and the sounds of attractive-looking stinger suits being zipped up can’t be missed. Of course don’t forget to “Slip, Slop, Slap!”. Whether you are gorging on super fresh seasonal mangoes at Rusty’s Market, or driving around honking your car horn at houses decadently decorated in elaborate Christmas light displays, there is without a doubt that Christmas is here in Cairns.
