First you can experience the Kuranda Scenic Railway, a gorgeous old-world train steeped in history along a winding 2-hour route over the Great Dividing Range. You can disembark during the trip in the World Heritage listed Barron Gorge National Park for a spectacular photo opportunity at Barron Falls.
The Kuranda Village itself is a mountain retreat tucked away inside the world’s oldest living tropical rainforest. There are shops, local produce, cafes, pubs, arts and so much more to experience there.
You can then take the Kuranda Skyrail back to Cairns, where you’ll get another view of the stunning waterfalls.
